Your responsibilities

Do you want to work close to the patient, utilize your full competence, and help develop the municipal healthcare of the future? With us, you will have a role where your medical assessment truly makes a difference every day and contributes to increased quality of life.

As a nurse in short-term care, you are responsible for 8-10 patients with complex needs. You plan, assess, implement, and follow up on healthcare interventions continuously, with the opportunity to make your own prioritizations and decisions. You work with patients who often have a complex medical profile and are in a transitional phase between hospital and home.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • performing medical assessments and initiating actions
  • coordinating care efforts and participating in care planning (SIP)
  • carrying out and following up on medical orders
  • supervising and delegating to nursing staff
  • documenting according to current laws and guidelines
  • patient admissions and discharges

Your workplace

You will be employed by the HSL unit within short-term care and will be placed at Garnisonens short-term residence, Åleryd short-term residence, or Kärna Care Village. In early 2027, all short-term care will be co-located at Åleryd Care Village, with the goal of creating a more cohesive operation, stronger collaboration, increased continuity, and the opportunity to develop specialized competence in short-term care.

At each residence, you work in a multidisciplinary team together with the operations manager, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and specialist nurse assistant. You also collaborate with doctors, relatives, and other healthcare personnel. A pharmacist is attached to the operation, which strengthens patient safety and working methods regarding medication management.

The operation is part of KUNO (Municipal Education Department in Close Care and Support) in collaboration with Linköping University. Clinical teaching methods are developed directly at the residence here, strengthening competence supply and reducing the need for external education. Simultaneously, Clinicum, the university's simulation environment, is being developed with realistic scenarios that will be implemented during 2026 to strengthen learning and security in the role.

You who apply

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and have experience in the profession. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and are accustomed to working in documentation and journal systems. You need to be able to cycle, and it is meritorious if you have a B-driving license.

It is meritorious if you have experience in municipal healthcare or work within elderly care.

To thrive and function in the role, you need to be confident in your profession and able to make your own medical assessments and prioritizations. You work in a structured manner, have good judgment, and collaborate well with other professional groups. You communicate clearly with colleagues, patients, and relatives.

The role also involves supervising and delegating, which places demands on pedagogical ability and clear leadership in everyday life.

Since the operation is developing, we see that you are flexible and have an interest in contributing to change and improvement of working methods.
