Ship Mechanic at Rindövarvet – A Key Role for Stockholm's Fleet!

We are looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes responsibility, and contributes to ensuring the reliability of Sweden's commercial shipping. As a ship mechanic at Rindövarvet, you will have a varied role where your technical skills make a real difference – every day.

About the Role

As a ship mechanic, you will work on repairs, service, and maintenance of commercial vessels and boats – everything from passenger ferries to work barges and official vessels. You will be part of a team of skilled technicians and mechanics, collaborating closely with project managers and other key roles at the shipyard.

Your responsibilities include among others:

  • Repair and maintenance of engines and mechanical systems
  • Welding and sheet metal work
  • Piping work
  • Hydraulics
  • Marine electronics
  • Painting and blasting
  • Participation in dry-docking and launching operations
  • Various service tasks

You work both independently and together with colleagues on projects, and you are expected to contribute structure, responsibility, and professional pride to everything you do.

We are looking for someone who…

  • Has experience in mechanics, vehicles, industry, marine, or similar fields
  • Is solution-oriented, detail-oriented, and accustomed to taking personal responsibility
  • Thrives in a hands-on profession with a fast-paced environment
  • Has a valid B-driver's license (required)
  • Can read and understand instructions and drawings
  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys collaboration

Experience with ships, hydraulics, welding, or electrical systems is a plus – but not a requirement. We value the right attitude highly!

Why Rindövarvet?

Rindövarvet is a growing company with a clear vision:

We aim to be the driving force for commercial shipping in the future – through innovation, sustainability, and reliability.

With us, you get:

  • A permanent workplace on Rindö in the Stockholm archipelago
  • A competent and helpful team where everyone contributes
  • The opportunity to work with vessels and boats from organizations such as the Swedish Transport Administration, Police, Strömma, and the Coast Guard
  • Personal development through Rindövarvet Academy – our internal initiative for training and self-leadership
  • A culture that values respect, community, joy, and order

About the Position

  • The position is full-time
  • Workplace: Rindö, Vaxholm
  • Service work in the Stockholm area is included
