Do you want to work in a production environment where safety, quality, and collaboration are in focus? We are now recruiting staff for several roles within steel plant production. The positions include tundish operator, fourth man, and third man for the furnace. Placement is based on your experience and competence.

As a furnace fourth man, you work closely with other furnace personnel and are a key part of the daily operation around the furnace. Your responsibilities include charging scrap, monitoring slag tapping, forklift operation when preparing the lid pallet, as well as cleaning and maintaining order around the furnace. You also assist with refractory repairs, help maintenance staff with repairs, and contribute to optimizing production flow and energy usage.

As a furnace third man, you work together with assistant smelters and other furnace personnel to ensure an efficient and safe melting process. Duties include sampling at the furnace, preparing the tap hole, forklift operation, cleaning, and assisting with refractory repairs. You also help maintenance staff with repair work and actively work to optimize production and energy consumption.

As a tundish operator, you are responsible for handling, supervision, and preparation of tundishes before tapping. Duties include cleaning and inspecting tundishes, preheating, and equipment checks. You collaborate closely with smelters and assistant smelters and play a vital role in ensuring the process runs efficiently and safely. You are also responsible for identifying and acting on risks that affect quality, environment, or working conditions.

The positions are direct hires with Ovako.

• High school education or equivalent
• Experience from industrial, process, or production operations
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Basic computer skills

• Experience from steel plants, smelters, or other process industries
• Forklift and overhead crane certificates
• Experience with furnace work or tundish handling
• Basic metallurgical knowledge
• Certification for Hot Work
