Police District Fyrbodal is one of five police districts in Police Region West. Police District Fyrbodal covers 17 municipalities and is divided into three local police districts: Western Fyrbodal, Eastern Fyrbodal, and Southern Fyrbodal. At the district level, there is an investigation section and a district office.

Job Description

As a Service Technician, you will handle tasks such as simple manual work, fluorescent tube and lamp replacements, ordering/purchasing goods and services, invoice processing, replenishment of consumables, receiving goods, mail handling, waste management/sorting, handling fault reports, as well as contact with property maintenance staff and suppliers. You will also serve at the reception when needed, handling passport applications, report registration, handling found items, issuing seized items, etc.

As a Service Technician, you will also manage the vehicle fleet and maintain regular contact with the vehicle coordinator in the police district. As part of the fleet team, you are responsible for ensuring service intervals are followed, performing transports to and from workshops and inspections. Furthermore, you plan and perform tire changes as needed and carry out minor maintenance work on vehicles. You also ensure that vehicles reported with faults are taken out of use. Good physical fitness is required as the job involves heavy lifting, such as moving smaller and larger items and other transport tasks as needed.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

• Completed upper secondary education.
• At least two years of work experience in service within similar tasks, vehicle handling and/or internal service, which the employer deems relevant.
• Category B driving license (for manually shifted vehicles).
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Good ability and experience in using several computer programs/systems in your daily work.
• Ability to move freely, as the daily work can be physically demanding.

It is meritorious if you also have

• Work experience regarding mail and goods handling.
• Work experience regarding invoice processing.
• Work experience regarding reception services and processing of passport/ID card applications.
• Additional driving license categories beyond Category B.

Personal Qualities

In the role of Service Technician, it is important that you are accustomed to working in a team and have good collaboration skills. You also need to be self-reliant, proactive, and take individual responsibility, as there is also solo work involved. You are flexible and easily switch and prioritize between different tasks. Since you often come into contact with people who need your help, you need to have a knack for seeing what needs to be done and be service-oriented.

To the Local Police District Eastern Fyrbodal, we are now looking for a Service Technician. As a Service Technician, you are part of a work group consisting of ten employees and a group manager. In the role of Service Technician, you are the hub at the police station in Åmål. It is also relevant to perform tasks at the police stations in Bengtsfors and Mellerud.
