With the goal of "Developing world-class competence for a sustainable future and a good life," the Natural Resources Administration offers education within upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, adult education, and university college. The nature-based schools Axevalla Horse Center, Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological University College function as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with business and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and pilot operations at the forefront on the schools. The Natural Resources Administration is part of the Region Västra Götaland.

Description

We are looking for you who want a role close to the industry and want to be an important part of the operations at the Biological University College (BYS). Our operations are characterized by constant development and change, so we are looking for you who thrive in such an environment.

We are in a growth phase where we are increasing the number of approved educations and expanding our operations. Since this is a new role for BYS, you have great opportunities to put your mark on the role and on our operations. The job involves some travel as our operations are conducted in several locations.

As the operations manager, you are the link between education and facilities. You are part of the management group at BYS, led by the principal. Together with our education leaders, you are responsible for leading and developing the operations of our educations with a focus on quality. You collaborate with all functions in the administration. You work together with the principal on issues regarding horse welfare, ISO work, systematic work environment work, and systematic quality work.

Being the operations manager at BYS involves contact with all parts of the green industry since we educate within agriculture, horses, forestry, and gardening. The role also includes collaborating with other operations managers at the natural resources administration's schools and other functions in the administration. Together with the operations manager at Angereds gård, you work to ensure that BYS can offer high-quality education.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and overall responsibility for the operations at the Biological University College's external facilities.
  • Involvement in applying for permits as we are a permit-required operation in some parts.
  • Contact with authorities and insurance companies.
  • Involvement in contract writing.
  • Coordinate procurement work at the Biological University College.
  • Contact with industry representatives and networking within different industries in the green sector.
  • Contact with the region's VÄSTFAST regarding external rentals of rented facilities.
  • Involvement in systematic work environment work.
  • Involvement in ISO work.
  • Involvement in the development of new educations.

There is an opportunity to participate in various projects both within the natural resources administration's competence centers and in international projects and exchanges.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education relevant to the employment or equivalent.
  • Certificates and qualifications relevant to the employment.
  • You are well acquainted with the horse industry.
  • You have a strong network within the green industry.
  • Class B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have previous experience working as an operations manager or similar supervisory position. Previous experience in procurement and contract writing is also meritorious. We would like you to have horse experience and be accustomed to the challenge of having live animals in the operations.

We are looking for you who are solution-focused, flexible, and can work both independently and in a group. You are meticulous and follow the regulations and quality requirements that the role entails. You enjoy meeting people and have a strong desire for development and collaboration.

Location: Axevalla Horse Center. Permanent position with 100% employment, holiday service. Start date: August 3rd or as agreed.
