Within the unit Investigation Elderly, we have approximately 40 employees based centrally in Umeå. We meet people (aged 65 and above) who, due to aging and its consequences, need support and assistance. We receive applications, conduct investigations, and make decisions in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL). We follow up on decisions to ensure that users' needs are met.
We are now looking for two temporary social secretaries!
Your responsibilities
As a social secretary, you are responsible for ensuring a legally secure and equal handling in accordance with current legislation. The role involves receiving and processing reports and applications, conducting investigations, making decisions, and following up on approved measures. You document your work continuously and guide individuals based on their needs according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
You work based on the IBIC approach (Individual's Needs in Focus), where the individual's abilities, resources, and needs are at the center. The work involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues, as well as with other professions and organizations, both internally and externally.
In this role, you collaborate at the individual, group, and organizational levels to ensure that every individual receives the right support. You have continuous and close work with the people you meet, as well as collaboration with relatives, representatives, and other actors within the area of operation.
About you
In the role of social secretary, you often meet people in difficult life situations, so it is important that you as a person are secure and stable. You are good at taking initiative and working independently. The work requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize with short notice, as the workload can be high during certain periods.
You want to actively participate in developing the operations and contribute to a good work environment. You are engaged and good at collaborating. You can see the individual's needs and put them into a broader perspective. Since we actively work to increase collaboration between our units, it is important that you see collaboration issues as a natural part of your work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Graduate Social Worker (Socionom)
- Experience in authority practice where you have conducted investigations and made decisions based on the Social Services Act (SoL)
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
Other
Two temporary positions, full-time, starting 2026-09-01 until 2027-01-31.
