The Individual and Family Care department in Nordmaling Municipality consists of 35 employees and has, since January 2024, also been responsible for operations in Bjurholm Municipality. The department is divided into five areas of operation (VO): Children, Youth & Family; Adults; Outpatient Care; Support & Care; and Management & Support.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a social worker in outpatient care, you will primarily meet with children and their parents. Here, support, treatment, and counseling are offered to create sustainable changes in daily life together. You will also serve as the outpatient care representative in the HLT preschool (Health, Learning, Security) and in the local work at the Family Center.

In outpatient care, you work both independently and in teams to achieve set goals. Assignments mainly come from case officers at the authority, but also via service interventions (advice and support), where individuals contact outpatient care directly. The work is based on a strengths-based approach, where you strive to unlock the individual and group's own resources. You also actively work to ensure that those we meet are as involved as possible – respecting individual privacy and self-determination.

Outpatient care collaborates and maintains good partnerships with other actors in the local area. Especially with schools, where outpatient care has representatives in the School Social Team (SST), HLT preschool, and HLT school (Health, Learning, Security). At the Family Center in Nordmaling, outpatient care is an important part of the overall operation. Within outpatient care, we are also responsible for conducting the parent education course ABC (All Children in the Center) as well as offering advisory and support conversations and collaboration meetings.

Your Profile

The requirements for you to work as a social worker in outpatient care are that you have a social work degree and previous experience working in care and social services relevant to the social services' areas of operation.

A B-class driver's license is required.

Qualifications that are advantageous for the position include:

• Knowledge and experience in psychosocial treatment work
• Knowledge and experience in conducting family-oriented interventions
• Knowledge and experience with strengths-based approaches and methods
• Knowledge and experience regarding Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ND/NPF) and the needs and attachment of younger children
• Knowledge and experience in working with domestic violence

Personal qualities and skills important for succeeding in the role include:

The Employment

Working hours are Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00, with flexibility options. Evening work occurs. The schedule may be adjusted periodically based on client needs, which will be done in consultation with management.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the Police Register of Suspicions and Convictions) is required prior to employment.
