School Counselor for Adapted Primary School in Nyköping

The Education Division has over 1,900 employees, and together we work to provide children, young people, and adults with a good education. Nyköping is developing; construction is happening like never before, more people are choosing to move here, and our school organization is growing. We are now looking for a School Counselor for the Adapted Primary School.

About the Operations

The Adapted Primary School is an alternative to the regular primary school for children with intellectual disabilities. It covers grades 1 through 9. Grades 1–6 are located at Arnö School (Långsätter) and Långbergsskolan. Grades 7–9 are located at Nyköping Junior High School (Alpha).

From this school year, all units within the Adapted Primary School operate as one organization under a principal, who, together with two deputy principals, leads the three units. We also aim to build a strong student health team consisting of counselors, school nurses, school leadership, and special education teachers.

Responsibilities

The Adapted Primary School is now seeking a school counselor with an approximate 20% split across each unit. This position is suitable for someone who wants to make a difference in students' lives through lifelong learning. We have adapted and beautiful learning environments, and our operations are characterized by a positive mindset where we have strong confidence in the students' competencies.

You will therefore participate actively in collegial work and will belong to a student health team in the area, with the principal as your direct manager.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work and experience working as a counselor and/or within the school sector.

Your main focus should be on the broader contexts within the school, but individual cases will also be part of the role. You are solution-focused in your work and, together with your colleagues, you seek the best possible paths to reach all students through an inclusive approach.
