Take responsibility for complex and technically advanced projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role offers a key position with significant autonomy, numerous contact points, and the opportunity to drive projects from inception to completion.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is in an expansion phase and is currently seeking a Project Manager for their operations. The role entails overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and executing customer projects with high demands for quality, delivery security, and technical understanding.

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for leading projects through their entire lifecycle – from project initiation and planning to delivery, implementation, and follow-up. You work closely with several internal functions, such as design, procurement, production, and sales, and serve as a central point of contact for customers and other external stakeholders.

You hold overall responsibility for project results regarding time, cost, and scope, while ensuring clear communication among all involved parties. The role offers a varied daily routine where you combine strategic work with operational project management in a technically complex environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects regarding schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Lead projects from contract signing to delivery and commissioning
  • Ensure projects are executed according to applicable requirements, standards, and regulations
  • Monitor project status, identify risks, and report to relevant stakeholders
  • Act as the primary contact person between the customer and the internal project team
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and other external parties
  • Establish effective project structures, communication channels, and workflows
  • Support technical functions in requirement management and documentation
  • Ensure technical requirements are communicated and understood both internally and externally
  • Contribute project perspective and requirement understanding during the quotation and contract phase

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Several years of experience in project management within marine operations, shipbuilding industry, defense industry, or other technically complex environments
  • Good knowledge of project control, planning, coordination, and monitoring
  • Good understanding of marine systems, ship technology, or related technical fields
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Relevant university degree or Civil Engineer degree, or equivalent experience

It is an advantage if you have experience from the defense industry or marine sector, worked with classification societies such as DNV or BV, have knowledge of battery systems, charging systems, or DC systems, and have experience with business or ERP systems.

To succeed in this role, you are a structured and self-initiating person who thrives on taking responsibility and driving projects forward. You have an analytical approach and the ability to make well-founded decisions even when conditions change. Furthermore, you are a natural leader who creates engagement, builds trust, and collaborates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You are motivated by working in an environment where technology, business, and project management meet, giving you the opportunity to influence both working methods and results.
