Role Description and Responsibilities

The power grid plays a central role in the ongoing energy transition. Investments in the power grid are driven by reinvestment needs in existing networks as well as grid connections for new production and the increased need for power grids as a result of the electrification of industry and the transport sector. The need for consulting services within Transmission and Distribution is therefore estimated to increase radically in the coming years.

With over 600 specialists within T&D and a growth rate that means the number of specialists is estimated to increase to over 850, AFRY is the world's seventh largest consulting firm in the field. In Sweden, we are approximately 230 specialists working within Transmission and Distribution.

You lead an established and growing business within Grid Integration, Substation, and Distribution (GISD), with responsibility for several specialist teams and leaders in Northern and Eastern Sweden, including Stockholm.

In the role of Market Area Manager for Transmission & Distribution (T&D GISD) in Northern and Eastern Sweden, including Stockholm, you have full operational responsibility for the business. You drive business growth, develop key customers, and are responsible for securing strategic business and long-term partnerships. The assignment involves leading the business through group managers and other leaders, as well as ensuring an organizational structure that provides good conditions for continued expansion.

You will collaborate closely with the Director and Head of T&D Sweden GISD as well as other Market Area Managers within Sweden and the Nordic region, with both national and international exposure. Furthermore, you will continuously collaborate with AFRY's customers, partners, and specialist organizations in Sweden and internationally.

You are responsible for quality, profitability, and delivery precision in the project portfolio through your group managers, project managers, and specialist teams. The role involves working in a national and international market with many contact surfaces, both externally with customers and partners and internally within AFRY, where many assignments are carried out in international teams.

Furthermore, you are part of the management group for Transmission & Distribution GISD in Sweden and contribute to the development of the entire business unit through joint business development work as well as through collaboration with other service areas and Management Consulting. You also collaborate with other units within AFRY, both in Sweden and internationally.

The assignment as Market Area Manager entails overall responsibility for the business's performance, where you drive profitable and sustainable growth. You balance sales, margins, and resource utilization, and combine business development, delivery excellence, and organizational development in a market with very high demand. You take over a strong platform with good results and are given the opportunity to further develop AFRY's position as a leading player in Transmission & Distribution in Sweden.

To succeed in the role, you need to have the following experience and background:

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education

• Several years of experience from Transmission & Distribution, energy, or related technical operations

• Documented experience in leading managers and larger knowledge-intensive organizations

• Experience of result responsibility, operational responsibility for the business, business development, and growth work

• Documented experience in driving growth, sales, and result responsibility in a knowledge-intensive business
