Region Västerbotten – Promoting Health and Sustainable Development

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for an equitable welfare system and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.

At the Neuro-Head-Neck Centre (NHHC) at Umeå University Hospital, approximately 600 people currently work on various aspects of investigating, treating, and rehabilitating diseases and injuries affecting the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, and throat. Our patient base consists of individuals requiring highly specialized care from northern Sweden. At NHHC, extensive research and teaching assignments are conducted with close ties to the Unit of Clinical Neuroscience at Umeå University.

The Neuro Clinic is a specialist clinic for neurology and neurosurgery. We receive patients referred by physicians who have assessed that specialist competence is required. In addition to general neurological and neurosurgical clinics, there are several diagnosis-related teams working within areas such as hydrocephalus, MS, Parkinson's, Epilepsy, ALS, and Neurosurgery, comprising various professional categories.
