Assistant Nurse for Norden – Dementia Care

Norden consists of eight wards with six residents per ward and is dedicated to people diagnosed with dementia.

As an assistant nurse at Norden, you provide care and service initiatives based on the residents' needs. Your work is characterized by responsibility, teamwork, and a constant strive to provide the best possible care.

Responsibilities

You will work daily with a calm approach that requires great patience and understanding of our residents' daily lives. Documenting the care and nursing you provide is an important part of the daily work. The role also includes performing certain health and medical care tasks, as well as following the routines and regulations in our operations. You will serve as the contact person for one or two residents.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as an assistant nurse or have other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. Previous experience from working in specialized housing is advantageous, as is knowledge and/or experience of working with people with dementia.

As a person, you are independent, responsible, have good initiative skills, are cooperative, and communicate easily both verbally and in writing. You must have the ability to create and maintain good relationships with all residents, their relatives, and your colleagues through respectful treatment.

You are accustomed to working with digital work tools such as mobile phones, computers, or tablets. You possess good skills in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, to be able to document the care you provide and to communicate with our residents and other actors in our operations.

Important Information Regarding the Title "Assistant Nurse"

To be employed, you must present an extract from the criminal record, which will be requested if employment becomes relevant. We recommend ordering this in connection with the application so it is available if you are considered for the position.

From July 1, 2023, the position of assistant nurse becomes a protected title. Therefore, a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is required to be employed as an assistant nurse. As a job seeker, you need to apply for the certificate yourself via the Social Services' e-service, which opens on July 1, 2023. When you present the certificate for the protected title, you will receive the position of assistant nurse; until then, you will be employed as a care assistant.
