Do you want to work with varied projects within geotechnics and be part of an experienced team? Tyréns is now looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for Umeå. Here you will work on projects ranging from major infrastructure investments to local assignments within industry and municipalities.
The Role of Geotechnical Engineer
In the role of Geotechnical Engineer, you work both analytically and practically. You are involved in the entire chain – from analysis to field work and further to technical solutions.
Your tasks will include among other things:
- Plan and coordinate geotechnical investigations
- Perform stability and settlement calculations
- Produce technical descriptions and reports
- Support construction and project managers
- Participate in field work related to the projects
The position involves some travel, with an average of about 5–6 overnight stays per month.
About the Close Team
The team in Umeå consists of two road and water engineers with a focus on geotechnics (both junior and more experienced competencies), supplemented by several field resources with a geoscience background who work extensively with data collection and handling in the field. The group also includes a more junior apprentice who is developing within the area. The work takes place in close collaboration both internally within the team and with geotechnical engineers in other locations, which provides support, knowledge exchange, and breadth in the projects.
We are looking for you with:
- University or civil engineering degree within road and water (preferably with a focus on geotechnics), Geotechnics, Geoscience, or Building Technology with courses in Geotechnics
- Category B driver's license
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
- Local connection to the region
Merits:
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with GIS
