Do you want to spark curiosity, creativity, and stage joy in children and young people? Then this might be the job for you. We are looking for a culture school teacher specializing in drama and theater who wants to inspire the next generation to express themselves, collaborate, and develop through the performing arts. Here you will work in a creative environment where teaching, cultural experiences, and creative projects go hand in hand.

The position is a temporary assignment from August 10 to December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

YOUR ROLE

As a culture school teacher, you plan and conduct drama and theater classes for children and young people of various ages. You work with both course activities in the afternoons and evenings, as well as open activities.

A part of the assignment also involves working with drama and theater in preschools and schools, where you, together with teachers and educators, create inspiring activities that strengthen children's learning and creativity.

You will become part of the drama and theater team, but you will also collaborate with colleagues in other art forms. Together, you will plan and perform performances, projects, and other cultural activities that give children and young people the opportunity to experience and create culture. The work takes place during both daytime and evening hours, during certain holidays, and on occasional weekends.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have good knowledge of drama and theater and a pedagogical approach to meeting children and young people.

You need to have the following:

• Relevant university education in drama or theater with a pedagogical focus, or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Category B driver's license and access to a car
• Good proficiency in using digital tools at work
• Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Basic knowledge of English

It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and young people in groups, especially if you have worked with groups including children with disabilities. Previous experience from a culture school or working in creative projects together with other art forms is also viewed positively.

You are accustomed to using digital tools as a natural part of your work and feel comfortable using them in teaching, planning, and communication.

You plan and organize your work in a structured manner and take responsibility for driving your assignment forward. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create high-quality teaching and cultural experiences. Since the operations involve many different activities and collaborations, you also need to be flexible and able to adapt when conditions change.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

The Culture School in Skellefteå consists of approximately 40 educators who meet around 2,500 children and young people every week. Here we work with dance, music, theater, media, and other cultural expressions.
