What we do and want

Kumla School is a grades F-9 school where approximately 670 students and 70 adults work together. The school is located in a quiet area where the well-being of both staff and students is high. We have a high level of ambition, and it is important to us that students develop as far as they can and that their time at Kumla School becomes a positive memory for life. At Kumla School, the pedagogues at the after-school center lead schoolyard activities during both break times and after-school hours. We use the "Trivselledarprogrammet" (Well-being Leaders Program) as a pedagogical tool to increase activity, safety, and structure during breaks.

For us, the after-school center activities are important so that our students have a safe and developmental environment throughout their day. During the school day, teachers and after-school staff collaborate to contribute to increased quality in teaching and to ensure all students succeed. At Kumla School, we have high expectations of ourselves and our students, and we work with clarity, student participation, and positive reinforcement. Therefore, we use PAX in Schools at our lower primary level. At the after-school center, we want to contribute to students developing as readers and gaining a love for reading, and we are now starting a reading promotion project in collaboration with "Läsa äger" (Reading Owns).

About the position

We are in an exciting phase of development and are now looking for three new primary school teachers in after-school care (fritidslärare), to continue our initiated work where we create equality for our students in the after-school center by utilizing the potential of our combined workforce.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for continuing to develop our break activities and the after-school center's teaching with activities suitable for different ages, conditions, and interests.

As an employee at our after-school center, you will contribute to ensuring that the children have a safe, stimulating, and developmental activity that is based on the needs and interests of the student group, throughout their entire after-school stay.

You will have close collaboration with other pedagogues in both grade teams and the after-school center. You will also have joint planning time with other after-school teachers at the school. Furthermore, we are investing in collegial professional development. One morning a month is therefore used for development work. In your role as an after-school teacher, together with your other after-school teacher colleagues, you will have an important role in driving this development forward. Additionally, you will be part of Tyresö Municipality's network for after-school center school development.

The position is a permanent appointment as a primary school teacher in after-school care at 100%, covering work in after-school activities and school collaboration. The assignment includes planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents.

Start date: August 2026 or as agreed.

The position is filled subject to the condition that it does not need to be taken for internal reassignments.

Who are you?

We are now looking for three certified primary school teachers in after-school care, preferably with different specializations.

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest and understanding of the students' needs. You have the ability to see all students and take into account their individual conditions to promote learning and development. You have a professional attitude and collaborate with students, colleagues, and guardians in a responsive and smooth manner. You have a development focus in your work and create good conditions for the after-school center as a whole by contributing to creating structure and organization.

For us, the after-school center activities are important so that our students have a safe and developmental environment throughout the day, and therefore it is important that you as an after-school teacher are professional and driven by developing the activity.

We are looking for you who are well-versed in Lgr 22 and the after-school center's complementary and compensatory mission, with experience in translating these into practice. You are a person who brings enthusiasm, energy, and joy to the work while being a clear and secure leader who places importance on creating work peace and functioning routines. You have a positive and curious attitude. You have a structured way of working where you plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks efficiently while being flexible and solution-oriented. You take responsibility and have a good ability to create good relationships with both students and colleagues as well as guardians.

As a primary school teacher in after-school care, you are interested in the development of the after-school center and want to, together with your after-school teacher colleagues, help lead the collegial learning in our development work at the after-school center.
