Do you want to be part of creating teaching that sparks curiosity, strengthens students' language skills, and helps them understand both themselves and the world around them? We are now looking for an engaged lower secondary school teacher for Lemshaga Academy, with special responsibility for teaching in Swedish and Social Studies (SO).

About the Position

We are looking for someone who wants to teach at the lower secondary level and has broad subject competence, with a special focus on Swedish and Social Studies (SO). You will be an important part of a work team where collaboration, shared responsibility, and collegial development are at the center.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create teaching where students develop language, conceptual understanding, reading skills, writing, analysis, and social studies comprehension. We are looking for someone who wants to make Swedish and Social Studies alive, relevant, and meaningful for the students.

The duties include:

  • planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in Swedish and Social Studies
  • creating teaching that strengthens students' language, reading comprehension, writing, and analytical skills
  • contributing to high goal fulfillment through clear, engaging, and accessible teaching
  • awakening students' curiosity about society, history, democracy, ethics, and current issues
  • contributing to security, study peace, and good relationships within the student group
  • working with formative assessment and clear feedback
  • collaborating closely with colleagues in the work team regarding students' learning and development
  • contributing to the school's joint work on inclusion, participation, well-being, and accessible learning environments
  • serving as a mentor and having close dialogue with students and guardians

We would appreciate it if you also had the competence to teach more subjects at the lower secondary level, as we value flexibility, collaboration, and a holistic view in the work team.

We are looking for you who

are a certified teacher with eligibility for lower secondary school, preferably in Swedish and Social Studies (SO), and who has a warm, clear, and professional leadership style in the classroom.

You are a teacher who:

  • enjoys teaching and creating engagement among students
  • has a good ability to build relationships
  • is confident in leading groups and creating structure
  • works in a language-developing and inclusive manner
  • has high expectations for students and wants to give every student the opportunity to reach as far as possible
  • sees collaboration with colleagues as a natural part of the job
  • is curious about school development and wants to contribute to the whole
  • wants to contribute to a school culture where we see the good, strengthen students' self-esteem, and help them grow both academically and as human beings

You need to be able to meet students with different needs and prerequisites, and you see adaptations, clarity, and relationship-building work as a natural part of good teaching.

Scope and Start Date

The position is a permanent full-time employment, with a start date as agreed. A 6-month probationary period applies.
