Lärande Grundskola Vira is in a development phase where we are gradually building our operations towards a full-scale F–9 school. For the upcoming school year, we are looking for a student support assistant who wants to help create the best possible conditions for our students' development, learning, and sense of security.
As the school continues to develop and grow, we see an increased need to strengthen support for students requiring special assistance, which may eventually lead to an expanded role.
At Lärande Grundskola, we work based on a pedagogical model called "The Learning Model." This model is built on team teaching, where teachers collaborate cross-subjectively around a specific grade level to create cohesion, context, and security for the students. Teaching is based on assignments built upon the Swedish National Curriculum for Compulsory School (LGR22), with clear elements of cooperative and value-creating learning. Through close collaboration among colleagues, we create an inspiring learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning are at the center.
Responsibilities
As a student support assistant, you work closely with students during the school day and at the after-school care center. You contribute to creating security, structure, and good conditions for learning, development, and social community. You act as a support for individual students or student groups during lessons, on breaks, at the after-school care center, and in other parts of the student's day.
You work in close collaboration with teachers, student health services, and other colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop based on their individual prerequisites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in lessons, at the after-school care center, and in other learning situations
- Contributing to structure, security, and a conducive study environment during the school day
- Working with extra adaptations and support measures based on students' needs
- Collaborating with teachers, student health services, and guardians
- Supporting students in social situations and relationship-building work
- Contributing to creating an accessible and inclusive learning environment
- Participating in the school's joint work regarding students' development and well-being
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience working with children and students and who have a genuine interest in supporting students' development and learning.
You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to create structure, clarity, and predictability. You work relationally and have a calm and professional approach when meeting with students, guardians, and colleagues.
We would appreciate it if you:
- Have experience working in preschool, preschool class, after-school care, or primary/secondary school
- Have experience working with students requiring special support
- Have good knowledge of and experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), such as ADHD or autism
- Are confident, clear, and solution-focused
- Work in a structured manner and have a good ability to create predictability
- Have good collaboration skills and are easily able to build trusting relationships
- Have good communication skills
Education as a childcare worker or other pedagogical education is meritorious.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Other Information
This is a fixed-term position with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.
The person offered the position must provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the police record) in accordance with the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the Swedish Education Act.
