The position is a fixed-term full-time employment from August until December 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Your Role

As a Resource Pedagogue, you are responsible for supporting students with diabetes in the lower secondary level (grades 4-6) and ensuring their well-being throughout the school day. You follow the students' self-care plans, which means you monitor blood sugar levels, remind and assist with checks as needed, manage meals and insulin administration according to established routines, and act in case of signs of hypo- or hyperglycemia. You create conditions for the students' full participation in teaching and contribute to safety, structure, and a conducive learning environment in the classroom.

In the role of Resource Pedagogue, you also serve as support for other students by assisting with tasks, instructions, and social interaction, contributing to an inclusive and safe school environment. You collaborate closely with teachers, after-school club staff, and other resource pedagogues. The role involves daily contact with guardians and building good relationships with students and colleagues.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Upper secondary education
• Experience working with children, students, or young people
• Knowledge of technology and medical applications
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• Experience and knowledge of Type 1 diabetes
• Education in Child and Youth activities or Care and Nursing
• Experience working as a Resource Pedagogue/Student Assistant
• Experience in healthcare and nursing and familiarity with care interventions

With your good judgment, you are willing to take responsibility and make decisions when the situation requires it.

You communicate and explain clearly and pedagogically to students and guardians. As a person, you have a sensitive touch in your interactions with students; you can be close and supportive without them feeling monitored. You are attentive, present, and create trusting relationships that contribute to the students' safety and development.
