Do you want to create safety, joy, and quality of life for children and young people?
We are looking for two licensed assistant nurses or support assistants for the position of Support Assistant. At our facility, children and young people receive a safe and developmental stay while parents get relief in their daily lives. You will work with warmth and commitment with children and young people with multiple disabilities according to the LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
The facility is open year-round and offers a home-like environment where the children's individual needs, participation, and self-determination are in focus. At Broströmsgården, there is a swimming pool, a sensory room, and a large courtyard in a quiet environment near Delsjön.
You will work together with support educators, support assistants, nurses, and the unit manager in close collaboration with guardians and other professionals. Working hours are evenings, some daytime shifts, and every other weekend.
Why you should choose us
Broströmsgården's short-term home offers accommodation for children and young people up to 21 years old with extensive support needs as well as healthcare. At our workplace, you will get:
- Meaningful work where you make a difference
- Engaged and competent colleagues
- Opportunities to develop in your professional role
- A workplace where the children's best interests are at the center
We are not just looking for the right competence. We are looking for you who, with warmth, commitment, and care, want to make a difference for children and young people.
Job Responsibilities
At our facility, you work with care and support from a safe, respectful, and individualized approach. The work is based on the individual's needs, conditions, and wishes with the goal of creating participation, independence, and a meaningful everyday life.
An important part of your work is to be a contact person for one or more children and young people. In this role, you are responsible for being a close and safe support, coordinating efforts, and drawing up and following up on implementation plans together with the child/young person's network and colleagues.
The work also includes personal care and support in everyday life based on the children's individual needs. You perform delegated healthcare tasks and are responsible for medication management after delegation. The assignment also includes documentation in digital activity systems. You participate in activities that promote the children's development, participation, and quality of life, and work with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and technical aids as support in communication.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated and licensed as an assistant nurse or support assistant with competence in medical care and good knowledge of care and nursing. You need very good Swedish in speech and writing and therefore need a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1.
Since we work with documentation, you need to have knowledge of various systems. You need to be computer literate and have digital competence. The work also requires that you have experience in performing delegated healthcare tasks.
It is meritorious if you have experience working with children and young people with multiple disabilities. Knowledge of AAC is also positive. Since there is a swimming pool at Broströmsgården (200 meters), it is meritorious if you are a swimmer.
The role requires courage and the ability to make independent decisions within the framework of the assignment, as well as taking responsibility for tasks and driving the work forward. You have an interest in development and learning, as well as the ability to come up with new ideas and take initiative for improvements in the activity.
The work also requires a respectful and attentive approach where consideration, care, and understanding for other people's needs and feelings are a matter of course. You have good cooperation skills by listening, showing interest, and creating good relationships.
