Consultant Nurse sought for Medical Ward – Autumn Assignment 2026

Are you a registered nurse who thrives in a varied medical care environment involving both acute care and rehabilitation?

We are now looking for you for a longer-term consultancy assignment within medical inpatient care during autumn 2026.

About the assignment

You will be working on a medical ward with patients including:

• Stroke care
• Neurology
• Endocrinology
• Gastrointestinal diseases
• Other internal medicine care

The department provides both acute stroke care and rehabilitation. The ward also has monitoring stations for thrombolysis patients requiring continuous monitoring.

The role includes standard nursing duties in inpatient care, such as:

• Patient care and monitoring
• Medication management
• Documentation and care planning
• Collaboration with doctors and other professionals
• Participation in multidisciplinary team work

You will work closely with nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, and social workers in a team-oriented manner.

Work environment

The department provides 24/7 care. Depending on staffing needs, the consultant may work across several medical wards within the clinic.

A structured introduction is planned prior to the start of the assignment to ensure security and good conditions for the work.

Period & Scope

• Period: Week 36–44
• Scope: Approximately 1,040 hours
• Working hours: Day, evening, night, and weekends according to schedule

We are looking for someone who

• Is a registered nurse
• Has experience from inpatient care within the last two years
• Is confident in independent assessments and prioritization
• Has good collaboration skills and thrives in team work
• Works in a structured and patient-safe manner

Merits:

• Experience with stroke care or neurology
• Experience with thrombolysis monitoring
• Experience with the Cosmic medical record system

Requirements for presentation

The following documents must be available for presentation:

• Updated CV
• Valid CPR training according to S-HLR standards
• Two current references from the most recent assignment or employment
