The Swedish Armed Forces are in an expansion phase and on a significant growth journey. The Armed Forces' cyber defense is an integrated part of military defense and constitutes a military-strategic resource. The cyber defense has the capability to conduct offensive and defensive cyber operations, as well as to detect, identify, and counter threats from the most qualified actors. The effects of a cyberattack can have consequences for society-critical functions as severe as a conventional armed attack.

As an agency, the Swedish Armed Forces are in constant development, where our main task is to safeguard Sweden's inviolable freedom. We are prepared to do what is required, even in the most difficult of times.
2nd Cyber Defense Regiment (2. CFF) is therefore now looking for a Senior Incident Response Specialist. If you have an analytical mindset and have worked for several years handling incidents in both public and isolated environments, this position is for you.
Main Responsibilities
Within Cyber Defense, we always want to be at the forefront of innovation and contribute to a safer Sweden through our actions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive and develop the cyber defense's capability to conduct incident management. In the role, you will also contribute to the development of technical solutions to meet the cyber defense's unique needs, which may involve method, technology, and tool development.
The tasks the team faces must be solvable both in peace and in war, which means physical training is a natural part of the job (the employer provides 3 hours of work time per week for physical training).
As a Senior Incident Handler, the role involves working with:
- Developing methods for incident handling in public and isolated environments.
- Implementation, administration, and improvement of incident handling methods.
- Mentoring and guiding junior employees.
Qualifications
- University education in IT or equivalent knowledge that the employer finds relevant.
- Documented work experience in a relevant area of at least 5 years.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
Merits
- Completed military basic training.
- Experience working with IT infrastructure, both public and isolated environments.
- Experience working within incident response.
- Knowledge and experience of CTI (Cyber Threat Intelligence) and detections.
- Well-versed in MITRE ATT&CK.
Skills in:
- Network traffic.
- Malware analysis (primarily triage).

Within the Swedish Armed Forces' cyber defense, you are offered continuous competence development so that you can further develop in your role and get the prerequisites needed to succeed in your mission. The work also includes continuous basic military capability, as our personnel hold combatant status. Those lacking military basic training will undergo the Swedish Armed Forces' general military training (AMU) to gain a basic understanding of military operations and personal skills. A workplace characterized by strong camaraderie and a large focus on balance between work and private life.
Other Requirements:

Swedish citizenship is required for employment with the Swedish Armed Forces. Employment entails national and international work obligations. The position has combatant status, which means you must be able to handle and use weapons. You will receive this training from us. A security check with register control will be conducted before employment. The selection process will be supplemented with work psychological tests. Employment type: Permanent employment, 6 months probationary period applies to those not currently employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

Information about the recruiting unit:
The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the High Command. The High Command has approximately 1,000 employees – both career officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the High Command consists of the Defense Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the High Command's Staff Division and independent supervision units.
Employment with us entails placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. A security check with register control will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad. The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. A CV and cover letter must be attached to the application for employment.
