About us
Welcome to Ekebo – an adapted primary school in Upplands Väsby Municipality where we put the students' needs first! Here we focus on creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where every student can grow and develop at their own pace. Our team consists of engaged and structured employees who are passionate about building relationships and collaborating to achieve our common goals. We strive for every student to feel seen, heard, and respected. Teaching at an adapted primary school is complex, and a large part of our staff has additional training in areas such as special pedagogy, ADHD/Autism, disabilities, Down syndrome, and Sign Language/Supportive Communication (TAKK/TSS).
The school is located in a central part of Smedby, with forest, meadows, and family-friendly housing as its closest neighbors. The adapted primary school currently has just over 48 students and is growing steadily each academic year. The school is divided into eight classes, where the 30 employees are distributed according to the needs of the classes. Each class is led by a qualified teacher.
The adapted primary school consists of students studying both subjects and subject areas. Students studying subjects move on to another school after grade 5. We have students aged 6 to 15.
About the position
As a teacher, you play a crucial role in our students' lives and contribute to their personal development. Every new piece of knowledge gives the students increased independence. In your role, you will:
- Plan and conduct teaching adapted to each student's unique needs and prerequisites.
- Create and maintain safe and positive relationships with the students to promote their learning and development.
- Work together with colleagues in a collaborative team to continuously improve and develop the operations. Collaboration between teachers/recreation staff/student assistants is crucial for how well we succeed in our mission.
- Participate in evaluations and follow-ups of students' individual goals and progress.
We value your competence and look forward to welcoming you to our team at Ekebo!
