Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a large public authority, with a focus on building analytics capabilities in a new analytics platform primarily based on the Azure ecosystem. The organization is undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation, establishing modern analytics and data platforms to enable data-driven decision-making and efficient business development.

The role involves managing complex datasets, data transformation, modeling, and developing scalable and maintainable data solutions. The consultant is expected to collaborate closely with the business, other teams within Data & Analytics, and other IT functions to ensure effective and sustainable solutions.

The assignment also includes contributing to the development of working methods, processes, and technical guidelines, as well as actively supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing and competence development in the field.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, focusing on the development of enterprise-wide data and analytics platforms.
• At least 2 years of experience developing data flows, data models, and analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience developing and implementing data integrations in cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
• Experience with ETL/ELT development, including work within Microsoft cloud services.
• Experience with dimensional modeling and creating data models for analytics and reporting.
• Experience establishing, configuring, and managing CI/CD pipelines in modern development environments.
• Documented experience handling complex datasets and developing scalable, long-term sustainable data solutions.
• Experience working with information security requirements in conjunction with the development and implementation of data and analytics solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting and developing junior developers through code reviews, coaching, knowledge sharing, or other forms of technical mentoring.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with both business and technical teams in complex organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of professional experience in semantic modeling using Power BI or Azure Analysis Services.
• Previous assignments involving development in Data Lakehouse architecture.
• Documented professional experience working with streaming data ingestion.
