We are seeking supervisors for practical labor market initiatives with a focus on present leadership, craftsmanship, and basic structure.

The Labor Market Center in Norrtälje Municipality works to support residents on their path to self-sufficiency through work, studies, or other lasting solutions. The activity is primarily aimed at individuals receiving social assistance or who are far from the labor market and need support, structure, and guidance to take the next step.

Through coaching, internships, and practical tasks, we offer individually tailored initiatives where the participant gradually approaches working life. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other parts of social services, authorities, and employers, with the goal of creating sustainable paths to independence and participation in society.

In this position, your main workplace is where the assignment is performed. You do not sit at an office; rather, your main task is to supervise by being present, being together with the participants in practical work tasks – whether in the workshop or out on a job site.

By working side by side with the participants, you create the safety and stability required to train in basic life skills such as keeping time, following instructions, and functioning in a social group. The target group consists of residents receiving social assistance who often face challenges with language, mental health, diagnoses, or substance abuse issues.

The Assignment

The activity covers several different areas today where you are expected to instruct, participate actively, and practically be responsible for:

• Facility Maintenance: Cleaning and maintenance of facilities with a focus on method and precision.
• Outdoor Environment: Cleaning and supervision in parks and public spaces.
• Reuse & Transport: Logistics, sorting, and transportation of materials as well as furniture storage.
• Carpentry: Simple carpentry and repair work on furniture and park benches.

What you need to bring with you

We are looking for you who have a solid craftsmanship background and a pedagogical mindset. You are a secure and stable person who enjoys working closely with people in need of support. You have a low-affective approach and understand the importance of being a role model in both professional knowledge and social behavior.

Requirements

• Pedagogy in practice: You have the ability to explain complex tasks in a simple way, often using visual aids and step-by-step manuals.
• Category B Driver's License (manual): Required for this position.

Merits

• Craftsmanship experience: You have solid experience in practical work and feel confident in teaching techniques and safety.
• Qualifications: Forklift, brush cutter, chainsaw, hot work, or welding.
• Breadth: You should have documented experience in at least two of the above areas (e.g., both carpentry and facility maintenance).
