Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital within a large one, and it is precisely in this smallness that our greatness lies. Here, we house all the competence a sick child might need, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. Our Operations

At the Academic Children's Hospital, Section of Pediatric Surgery, we provide both planned care and 24/7 emergency intake for all specialties. Our operations consist of surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurology/neurosurgery, and hand surgery. We also run a joint day-care service. The children who come to us range in age from newborns up to 18 years old. We receive patients from the entire Mälardalen and Norrland regions.

We place great emphasis on the child's perspective and work in teams together with the child and the family. It is important to us that both children and parents feel well-prepared, as this makes the care process calmer and safer. In this work, all of us working on the pediatric ward, together with the multiprofessional team at the children's hospital, play an important role. All our work, from preparatory information about the upcoming procedure to post-care on the ward, is done with great respect for the child. There are many laughs in a day together with children and families.

Your Role

You will be welcomed by positive and engaged colleagues, many with long experience, mixed with those who have recently started their development in the profession. You are offered meaningful and rewarding work, where you meet families in many different situations. You will be part of a team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. As a new employee, you will receive a personally tailored introduction program. Afterward, our experienced clinical supervisors will be in place to guide, follow up, and support you in your continued development.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in working with children and their families. We prefer that you have a few years of experience in the profession.

Specialized training in health and medical care for children and adolescents, or previous experience from pediatric surgery/pediatric care, is advantageous.
