Responsibilities

As a school nurse with us, you work promotively and preventively to support students' health and knowledge development. We also have close and good cooperation with psychologists, counselors, special education teachers, principals, and other staff. You will be offered regular supervision and good opportunities for competence development. Your main responsibilities include:

• Conduct health visits with health talks and relevant screenings.
• Offer open reception for students.
• Administer vaccinations according to the national child vaccination program.
• Conduct health-promoting work at group and class level within public health and social medicine.
• Provide consultation and advice to educators.
• Participate in mapping students' school situations.
• Work with attendance and absence follow-up.
• Collaborate with external authorities to ensure the best possible support for students.

You are also a key resource in the overall development work of the Child and Student Health Service. Together with the principal and other employees in the school's student health team, you work for the benefit of every student.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education as a school nurse, child and adolescent nurse, or district nurse. You who are currently undergoing specialist education are also welcome to apply.

You have a genuine interest in working with children and young people and want to help them have a positive school experience. As a person, you need to be secure, stable, responsible, flexible, and independent. You cooperate well and can structure your work effectively. Education in Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an advantage. A B-driver's license is a requirement.

To start working in preschool, school, after-school centers, and other pedagogical activities, you are required to show an extract from the criminal record. The extract is valid for one year and can be ordered from the Swedish Police Authority (www.polisen.se (https://www.polisen.se)).
