RESPONSIBILITIES

As an occupational therapist, you work with the whole person and their physical and cognitive abilities. You also work on interventions to strengthen the individual's independence, as well as increasing activity and participation in daily life. The occupational therapist's area of responsibility includes assessing patients' activity and functional capacity, home-based training interventions, prescribing and fitting assistive devices, environmental assessments, and issuing certificates for housing adaptations. You also work health-promoting and preventive to increase the possibility of an active life with good quality of life. You collaborate closely with physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants.

The work involves informing, instructing, and supervising patients, care staff, and relatives. Occupational therapists and physiotherapists have close cooperation with other professions such as home care staff, residential staff, nurses, and social workers within their geographical team.

As an occupational therapist, you have many contacts with patients, staff, and relatives, which requires good communication skills, sensitivity, and the ability to create and maintain good relationships.

Patient-centeredness and participation are key words for us on the journey towards Close Care. You will be important in our continued work to develop municipal primary care together with colleagues and management.

The position includes responsibility for patients in both special housing and ordinary housing.

As an employee in the rehabilitation unit, you work daytime, Monday to Friday, and we have flexible working hours agreements. You are based at a centrally located office in Färjestaden.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and want to work with rehabilitation in the patient's home environment.

We welcome both applicants with long experience and those who are newly graduated. As a new employee with us, you will get a mentor, and the work group helps and supports each other.

We place great importance on personal suitability and that you are interested in municipal rehabilitation and the people we meet in our work. You are curious, enjoy problem-solving, and thrive working both flexibly together with people from different professional groups and independently. You have a good attitude and the ability to convey knowledge in a pedagogical way based on where the individual is at.

Category B driver's license is required.

To be considered for employment within social care in Mörbylånga Municipality, the employer will require the applicant to present an extract from the police criminal record register regarding residential care homes (HVB-hem).
