About the workplace

Granbackaskolan is a lower primary school with age-homogeneous classes from preschool class up to year 3. We strive daily to give the school's 300 pupils important tools in the form of self-confidence, social competence, and critical thinking.

We see safety as a clear prerequisite for school success. At the school, there is close cooperation between teachers, after-school care (fritidshem), the student health team, and school management.

What we offer

As a teacher in after-school care/fritidspedagog in the City of Solna, you will have the opportunity to grow together with educators who are engaged and have high expectations of pupils' possibilities to develop and learn. For your professional development, you will participate in networks for teachers in after-school care/fritidspedagoger and in other training. Additionally, the City of Solna is developing an employee development program for employees in the City of Solna.

What does the job entail?

Through research-based and experience-based teaching, you help create developmental and pedagogically aware learning environments and activities. Currently, the City of Solna has a particularly strong focus on recess activities.

You will be part of a work team that will design and develop the operations and lay a good foundation for the children's development. School development in Solna includes language-developing approaches, digitalization, core values, and adaptation of the learning environment. An important part of the work is to develop the social climate so that all pupils feel good and thrive in the group.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who:

  • are educated as a primary school teacher with a specialization in after-school care (fritidshem)
  • have experience working in after-school care
  • have experience of different forms of collaboration (parent meetings, daily contact, etc.)
  • have knowledge of child development
  • can connect the operations to the curriculum and other regulatory documents
  • have good language skills in Swedish and can express yourself well in speech and writing.

As a person, you are engaged and interested in the development of the after-school care and the school, and are well acquainted with the curriculum. As a teacher in after-school care, you feel joy and desire to follow children's development and are passionate about creating an accessible learning environment that meets all pupils. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and adapt easily to changing circumstances.

You are calm and stable, take initiative, and like to start activities. The role requires that you are good at organizing and planning your work in an effective way. As a teacher in after-school care, you need to be able to communicate clearly so that everyone understands. It is also important that you have the ability to create good relationships with pupils, guardians, and colleagues.

More information and application

The position is a fixed-term appointment (100%), until 2026-01-27, with the possibility of extension.
