Welcome to work with us at Domsjö School! Here you will find approximately 310 curious students who thrive and develop together with about 45 skilled teachers in school and after-school activities.

If you are new to your profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers, which means you will have a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject qualifications who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach Swedish, Social Studies (SO), and Physical Education and Health in grades 4–6. You will have overall responsibility for the student group and handle the documentation and contacts this entails. Contact and cooperation with guardians are an important part of the job. The assignment involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching together with a work team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree and qualifications for grades 4–6 in Swedish, Social Studies subjects, and Physical Education and Health.

We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged and think new thoughts, seeing differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.

We would appreciate it if you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the ability to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are receptive, take responsibility, are engaged, and creative.

We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
