Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Do you burn with a desire to make a difference for children and young people? Do you believe that the right book at the right time can change a life? Then you might be the person we are looking for.
"We know what we can do, where we are going, and how we get there – together we take the next step."
Hökarängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F–9) with approximately 550 students, including preschool class, after-school centers, youth clubs, and adapted primary school.
Our vision is to be a school for all – where every student:
- develops in their learning
- thrives and feels well
- leaves us well-prepared for the future
With us, you will meet dedicated colleagues with high ambitions. We work systematically with development, including through pedagogical development groups.
The school is located in spacious and well-functioning premises with a central and welcoming light hall – where the library also plays an important role.
Your role
As a school librarian with us, you are a central pedagogical resource – not just a custodian of books.
You work closely with teachers and students to strengthen:
- language development
- love of reading
- media and information literacy (MIL)
You are responsible for the development of the school library both pedagogically and organizationally.
Your responsibilities
Reading promotion work
- awaken and develop students' love of reading
- Book talks, reading circles
- plan and implement reading projects, especially in grades F–3
Teaching in MIL
- work with source criticism and information retrieval together with teachers
- strengthen students' digital competence
Pedagogical collaboration
- support teachers in finding and using literature
- integrate the library into all school subjects
Library development and environment
- create a safe and inspiring environment
- develop the library as a hub for learning
Collaboration
- collaborate with colleagues and external actors
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who:
- have a degree in library and information science
- have a strong interest in children's and young people's language and literature
- have good IT skills
- preferably have experience working in a school library or with children and young people
Personal qualities
To succeed in the role, we see that you are:
- proactive and creative
- flexible and solution-oriented
- structured and self-initiating
- relationship-building
- confident in your professional role
You see opportunities where others see challenges – and you do not wait for students to come to the library; you take the library to them.
Other information
- Attach your degree certificate to your application
- A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required according to the Education Act
We offer a wellness benefit of 3,000 SEK to all our employees. The amount is based on the degree of employment.
We offer the possibility of half-days before red days and sandwich days for our employees.
