About Us

The Youth Clinics are an accessible service aimed at young people aged 13 to 25. Our mission is to promote the mental and physical health of young people and to strengthen the transition from youth to adulthood. We serve as a basic level in health promotion work, with a special focus on mental, sexual, and reproductive health and rights, as well as preventive measures for young people.

The Youth Clinics in Alingsås, Lerum, Herrljunga, and Vårgårda share a common manager and have a close, well-functioning collaboration. We work in cross-professional teams with counselors, midwives, assistant nurses, and general practitioners. In this role, you will work closely with midwives and doctors while being part of the entire youth clinic operation in the area. This implies close collaboration across both clinic and professional boundaries, with joint Appraisal and Development Discussions (APT), supervision, further education, and dynamic development work where you will have the opportunity to contribute.

About the Job

As an assistant nurse here, you are the face of the Youth Clinic and the first person young people meet, making a good, safe, and professional approach particularly important. In your role, you are responsible for simple sample collection, such as STI and pregnancy tests, as well as the distribution of emergency contraception and condoms. You also handle simple telephone counseling and have your own contacts with young people in close collaboration with your colleagues, while assisting healthcare staff in daily work as needed.

The position also includes various administrative tasks, such as inventory orders, invoice checking, and rescheduling appointments. In the future, additional administrative tasks will be added, so it is important that you enjoy and are interested in administrative work. We would also appreciate it if you participated in our outreach work in schools and other meeting places where we meet young people in their daily lives and create contacts that make it easier for them to seek support from us.

About You

We are looking for you who are a trained assistant nurse and who preferably have experience working with young people. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Additional language skills are meritorious, as is experience from working at a youth clinic.

As a person, you are proactive, service-oriented, and easy to collaborate with, while also being able to work independently. Since you are expected to be involved in outward health promotion work, it is important that you are communicative, confident in meetings with young people, and accustomed to taking initiative. We place great importance on personal suitability for the position.

Conditions

The placement for the position is in Alingsås, but you will also work at our clinic in Lerum. The assignment includes some evening shifts.

Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period.

As of July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" became a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse within healthcare and social services.
