Art Teacher and Home and Consumer Studies Teacher for Robinson Valsjön

Robinson Valsjön, Åkersberga

Scope: 20 %
Employment type: Permanent position
Start date: August 2026
Municipality: Österåker – Åkersberga

About Robinson Valsjön

Robinson Valsjön is a preschool–grade 6 school located in the scenic area of Åkersberga. The school opened in autumn 2022, and by autumn 2026, we will have students in grades preschool–5, with a total of approximately 110 students. The school building is new and nestled in the area around Valsjön – a place that inspires both learning and well-being.

At Robinson, we work with experience-based and subject-integrated learning. We believe that long-term learning is built on students experiencing, exploring, and participating. For our younger students, nature is a natural place for teaching, while older students get to discover society and its functions.

Do you want to inspire students to express themselves creatively, develop their visual language, and at the same time give them basic knowledge for daily life? Do you want to work in a school where participation, collaboration, and creativity are a natural part of everyday life? Then perhaps you are our new colleague!

About the role

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications in Art and preferably also Home and Consumer Studies, who wants to help develop our teaching. The position is a combined role where Art accounts for approximately 15% and Home and Consumer Studies for approximately 5%.

As an Art teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in the subject of Art according to the current curriculum. You help students develop their knowledge in areas such as drawing, painting, design, digital imagery, image analysis, and creative creation.

In Home and Consumer Studies, you are responsible for teaching where students develop basic knowledge about food, meals, health, economics, consumption, and sustainability. You create practical and meaningful learning situations where students connect knowledge to daily life, responsibility, and sustainable choices.

With us, the classroom is just one of several places where learning can take place. We welcome it when nature, the local environment, and students' own experiences become a natural part of the teaching. You contribute to our experience-based and subject-integrated approach and enjoy working thematically with colleagues, where Art and Home and Consumer Studies can be linked to, for example, nature, society, language, health, sustainability, and creativity.

An important part of the role is to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment where students dare to try, express themselves, collaborate, reflect, and develop. You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues in work teams.

We are looking for you who

  • Are a certified teacher with qualifications in Art
  • Are a certified teacher in Home and Consumer Studies
  • Are creative, clear, and engaged in your teaching
  • Have a good ability to meet students with different needs
  • Can create structure, peace, and security in the classroom
  • You are responsible, easy to collaborate with, and receptive in meetings with both students and colleagues.

Meritorious qualifications

  • Qualifications in both Art and Home and Consumer Studies
  • Experience with experience-based and subject-integrated work
  • Experience with outdoor pedagogy or work where nature and the local environment are used as inspiration in teaching
  • Experience working in a smaller school with close collaboration between colleagues
