This is a fixed-term position at 80% with a start in August and an end in December. There may be opportunities for higher employment levels and permanent employment.

Your Role

In the role of Mathematics Teacher, you will teach two classes within grades 7-9. In addition to classroom teaching, you will also conduct support teaching for students who need extra help in mathematics. You are responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of your subject according to the curriculum. You adapt the teaching to students' needs, interests, and prerequisites. You monitor, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development. The role includes shared mentorship for one class in the lower secondary school. You are responsible for building trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. To create the best conditions for students, you work closely with other teachers and the student health team.

The role involves close collegial collaboration in both subject and grade-level teams within the lower secondary school. Five other mathematics teachers work at the school. You meet regularly to collaborate on students, planning, assessment, grading, pedagogical development work, and systematic quality work.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Teaching certification with subject eligibility for grades 7-9 in mathematics.
• A strong interest in working with students who need extra support in mathematics.
• Good digital competence with experience using digital pedagogical tools.
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Experience working as a teacher in primary school.
• Experience working with young people.
• Experience teaching mathematics in grades 7-9.
• Experience working with students who need extra adjustments and special support.
• Knowledge and competence to teach in English.

Saltsjöbadens Samskola is a grades F-9 school with approximately 900 students. Here, students are met with high-quality teaching in a secure and pleasant environment.
