The Social Care Administration in Borås Municipality is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health care interventions for these target groups. With approximately 1,000 employees and 45 managers, we are continuously working to improve the quality of our services for those we exist to serve.

About the Role

We are looking for two new colleagues: a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist who know that collaboration is their strength. We would prefer if you have worked together before or are willing to work closely as a team. Here, you will become a unified rehabilitative force centered around the patient.

You will belong to one of our three teams based at Bryggaregatan in Borås, but you will primarily work in the patient's home. Change rarely happens quickly here, but when it does, it is significant. Relationship, trust, and presence are often more important than individual interventions. You will work closely with nurses, care assistants, and the patients themselves in an interdisciplinary team where your interaction makes a real difference in people's daily lives. Our target group is complex, making flexibility, sensitivity, and the ability to think outside the box essential qualities in daily work.

Responsibilities

As a physiotherapist here, you work to strengthen the individual's physical function, mobility, and ability to manage their daily life as independently as possible. The work is preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative, always focusing on the individual's needs, resources, and participation.

You assess the individual's physical function, such as strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance, and design interventions based on what is important for the person in their daily life. Interventions may include training to improve functions, preventing deterioration, or compensating for reduced abilities.

The work includes, for example, individually adapted training, fall prevention, prescribing and following up on assistive devices, and advising on physical activity. You also supervise staff and relatives on how they can support the individual's physical function and activity level in daily life.

You work in close collaboration with an occupational therapist in a rehab pair, where you together contribute different competencies to create a holistic rehabilitation process. The goal is to enable a functional daily life and increase independence, participation, and quality of life.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist with knowledge of how physical function is affected by disabilities and how individually tailored interventions can strengthen health and independence in daily life. You have experience in assessment, training, and rehabilitative interventions, as well as a person-centered approach to work.

You have a good ability to work both independently and in a team, and thrive in collaboration with other professional groups such as occupational therapists, nurses, and care assistants. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required as the job involves travel between different locations.

Experience working in psychiatry is considered an asset.

Most importantly, we value that you are engaged, curious, and confident in your role, and have the desire to contribute to improving the daily lives of people with various functional variations. This is a meaningful role where you can use both your competence and your commitment.

If you are looking for a job where no two days are alike, where the team spirit is strong, and where you can grow both professionally and personally – then you have found the right place!

Application

Please send your application with attached documents via our application function, accessible via "Apply for Job" below.
