Psychologist for Digital Group Therapy for Parents – Contact Center for Children and Young People's Mental Health, Västerbotten

The Contact Center for Children and Young People's Mental Health in Västerbotten is a unified entry point to care for children and young people aged 0–17 with mental health issues. We strive for good accessibility and ensure equitable assessment across the entire region. Our services provide advice and support, as well as structured assessments to determine the appropriate level of care. We also offer evidence-based and equitable treatment for children, young people, and their guardians in Västerbotten.

We are now looking for a psychologist to join our team for digital group therapy for parents at the primary care level in Västerbotten, focusing on the most common reasons for seeking help: worry/anxiety, low mood/depression, concentration difficulties, and conflict-prone/externalizing behavior. The role also involves telephone assessments based on a structured method.

Responsibilities

As a psychologist at the Contact Center for Children and Young People's Mental Health in Västerbotten, you will contribute knowledge and commitment that help people feel secure. You will work in a team with psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and social workers, and together with your colleagues, lead digital parent support groups.

You will also partially be responsible for receiving and assessing incoming telephone calls and referrals from children and adolescents with mild, moderate, and severe mental health issues. This involves providing advice and support and assessing the need for care at the appropriate level. Patient contact will be conducted digitally through virtual care meetings as well as by phone.

It is important that you, together with the team, develop close collaboration with the primary care units in Västerbotten, as these units book patients into the group therapies offered by you and your team. The workplace is located in Umeå, and you will be part of a team working with similar responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. Previous experience in treatment work, especially group therapy for children and young people with mental health issues within healthcare, is highly valued. Experience working with digital care meetings is an advantage.

You are confident in yourself and your professional practice. You work well independently but also have strong collaboration skills. You are proactive, flexible, and enjoy finding solutions. You thrive in a team environment and are keen to drive the operations forward. You have excellent computer skills and good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. You have a strong sense of service and a welcoming attitude.

The position is a fixed-term appointment (substitute).
