Are you a licensed and experienced special needs teacher or special educator driven by creating structures where all students can succeed? Do you want a key role where you step forward to take operational and strategic overall responsibility, acting as the principal's extended arm in student welfare work? Then you might be the person we are looking for at Lemshaga Academy.

About the Role

In this position, you will have a clear and expanded mandate. You will not only work directly with students and adjustments but also become a central coordinator for our student welfare work in years 5–9. Your main task will be to relieve the principal by leading, structuring, and quality-assuring processes regarding special support and extra adjustments for older students.

Lower secondary school can sometimes involve a high pace and complex challenges. Therefore, the role requires someone who thrives at holding the reins even under high pressure and who can handle acute situations with calm and methodology.

Your Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Overall Responsibility for Years 5–9: Oversee, coordinate, and quality-assure pedagogical support and documentation for the target group.
  • Process Owner with Administrative Precision: Lead the work with pedagogical investigations, action plans, and follow-ups, ensuring they maintain high legal and structural quality.
  • Strategic Partner to the Principal: Independently prepare materials for complex student cases, lead network meetings, and act as the school's primary contact link in collaboration with external authorities such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and police.
  • Mentoring and Conversations: Support our teachers in the classroom and lead difficult, structured conversations with anxious or demanding guardians.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is confident in their profession, possesses high personal maturity, and has very good administrative and structural skills. You have the ability to organize and prioritize your work effectively, even during periods of high pressure. As a person, you are communicative and have strong interpersonal skills when meeting people in crisis or conflict, where you manage to combine empathy with clear, professional, and objective boundaries.

Your Qualifications:

  • Requirements: University degree in Education with teacher certification, plus supplementary education as a special needs teacher or special educator.
  • Requirements: Several years of experience working in lower secondary school and good insight into current governing documents, the Education Act, and Chapter 3 (children's right to support).
  • Requirements: Documented experience of collaboration with external parties such as social services, healthcare, or police, as well as experience handling complex and difficult conversations.
  • Experience in having a coordinating role, assistant principal function, or similar leadership responsibility is highly meritorious.
  • Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, with a focus on writing legally secure and clear action plans.

What Do We Offer You?

At Lemshaga Academy, we offer a warm, dynamic workplace with short decision-making paths and a large personal mandate. You will become part of an engaged student welfare team where we value structure, collegial learning, and staying one step ahead in planning. Here you will have the chance to make a real difference at the system level and shape your role in close collaboration with the school leadership.
