The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, leisure centers, primary schools, upper secondary schools, as well as adapted primary and upper secondary schools. We have over 3,200 employees at 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four upper secondary schools. The Role and Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher/special educator with us, you play a vital role in the organization. Together with teachers, your colleagues in the special needs team (specteam), and your colleagues in the student welfare team, you ensure that our students get the best possible conditions for learning, regardless of their needs.

  • You have overall responsibility for special pedagogical support for both students and staff in grades 4-6.
  • You teach students and provide both general support and special support in school subjects.
  • You regularly meet with teacher work groups where you both support and challenge colleagues to find the best adaptations in teaching and the most adequate support for students.
  • You have delegated responsibility from the principal for content, language, and qualitative analysis and assessment in Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and Action Plans.

The school is surrounded by fantastic nature, and the location makes it suitable for teaching both indoors and outdoors. The proximity to the Lida and Brantbrink forests is often used by the school for days where students and educators have wonderful experiences together.

As a special needs teacher/special educator with us, you belong to the Studio's work team and the Student Welfare Unit. You collaborate with competent and experienced colleagues who all have the student's best interests at heart. In student welfare, all competencies are represented: school nurse, counselor, study and career counselor, school psychologist, and school leadership.

In our Studio, we have a special teaching group, and we also receive students who need to pause from the larger group for part of the day or during a period. We also have a pedagogical dog as part of our special pedagogical offering, as well as a social pedagogue who works with safety and well-being.

There is an opportunity to work part-time, 80%, if desired, otherwise full-time.

You Who Apply to Us

Requirements:

  • You have a teaching license.
  • You have a degree as a special needs teacher/special educator.
  • You have experience working with special education for students in grades 4-6.
  • You have experience mentoring and supporting teachers in developing and adapting their teaching according to students' needs.
  • You are skilled at building good relationships and communicate with colleagues, students, and guardians in a positive and professional manner.
  • You are enthusiastic and can inspire others to want to do more or try something new.
  • You are structured and clear in planning, implementation, and follow-up.
  • You evaluate your own efforts and develop and improve based on results and needs.
  • You have strong analytical skills and can see the big picture and patterns.

Merits: It is meritorious if you have qualifications and competence in Swedish as a Second Language, early reading instruction, problematic school absenteeism, and NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders).

You are collaborative and have an easy time building relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. We also value that you are structured and have good routines for your work.
