What we offer

• At least six weeks of structured orientation together with an education nurse and a supervisor. All to ensure you get the best possible start with us.
• In the first year, a one-week introductory course in nephrological nursing is offered, and within two years, a four-day advanced course is available. Additionally, we have several local and clinic-wide lectures per semester.
• Opportunity for paid university studies (Nephrology 15 ECTS credits) and we encourage education at the master's level.
• A fixed "semester schedule" with the possibility of individual adjustment at the start of the semester. Weekend work is scheduled for 4 weekends out of 12.

About the position

At the dialysis unit in Huddinge, we care for patients with chronic kidney failure who need dialysis three times a week. Since dialysis is a life-sustaining treatment, our patients are regular visitors, which creates long-term relationships and great opportunities for person-centered care.

You are offered work in an stimulating work environment, combining medical technology and close patient contact. The work is therefore based equally on relationship-building nursing and medical-technical assessment in the patient's dialysis treatment, where you as a nurse play an important role in creating calm and security for the patient. At our clinic, no patients are inpatients, so you always have a clear end to your day. During the day, time is allocated for both care work and planning and documentation.

You will work closely with doctors, assistant nurses, and other nurses, where you all contribute to the patient receiving the best care. The work also includes a large part of independent work as you are the one who plans and performs the dialysis treatment. In the future, there is also the possibility to perform emergency dialyses externally at the hospital and to gain specialized competence in pediatric dialysis.

The pace at the dialysis clinic is characterized by a balance between advanced care with extra focus on treatment starts and ends, and social meetings with patients that make the workday stimulating. In between, there is time for documentation, patient planning, and monitoring of treatments, as well as for socializing and exchanging experiences with colleagues.

Favorable working hours:

Morning shifts are scheduled Monday to Sunday from 07:00 - 15:30. Afternoon shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:30 - 20:00. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, afternoons are dedicated to meetings, own work, and education. Weekend shifts are scheduled between 07:00 - 14:30. In preparation for the spring and autumn schedules, you also have the opportunity to individually adjust your schedule.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse.

Merits:

• Experience of working in emergency care and/or experience in nephrology.
• Completed education in nephrology.
