Your future workplace

As some of our operating room nurses are retiring, we are now looking for new colleagues.

The Department of Surgery is part of the Anesthesia/Surgery/ICU unit and has approximately 80 employees working in anesthesia, surgery, post-op, and the sterile supply department at Alingsås Hospital. At our facility, we perform everything from simple day surgery procedures to extensive surgery, both planned and emergency. We offer a broad range of activities within orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, pediatrics, and pacemaker implantations, which makes the work varied and stimulating. We work systematically with patient flows and processes to provide our patients with high accessibility and good, safe care.

Job Description

As an operating room nurse, you are an important part of the surgical team and work together with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing assistants, and anesthesiologists in the operating room. You need to be flexible and able to work at a varying pace. You work in a high-tech environment where the patient is in focus, and you are responsible for asepsis and sterility. You work independently in your professional role, but you have the entire team in close collaboration to provide good and safe care during the patient's operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education in operating room nursing. Previous experience as an operating room nurse is meritorious.

Your attitude is characterized by care for people, and you have good ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.

Conditions

Working hours are mainly during daytime, Monday to Friday, which gives you weekends and public holidays off. When you feel confident in your role, there is an opportunity to also work evenings, weekends, and on-call duties, as part of our important mission to care for our emergency patients. This corresponds to approximately one evening per week and every fifth weekend.
