About the school
Källbrink School is beautifully located in the middle of Huddinge with lovely forests and Källbrink sports field right on the doorstep. At Källbrink, 50 employees work with approximately 450 students. The educators work in year-group teams with four classes per year group. There is also a team consisting of the school's three smaller teaching groups.
The operations function well and are characterized by competence and a positive view of students. In our work with the students, we focus on the individual's needs, and our approach is based on adaptations, both large and small. We are flexible in lesson planning and examination tasks, and we believe that schoolwork should be done at school. We are a one-to-one school and work with Chromebooks as a digital tool.
About the position
The position is a permanent full-time appointment with a start date of August 10, 2026. We are now looking for a responsible mentor with a teaching assignment for one of the school's smaller teaching groups for students with high school absenteeism and a need for special support to succeed in their schooling.
In this assignment, you have overall responsibility for the group's development, structure, and student support. You actively work to create safety, motivation, and trust, and strengthen the students' conditions to regain functional school routines and increased school attendance. The role involves close work around the students' entire school situation and requires a high degree of relationship-building, endurance, and collaboration.
As a mentor and teacher, you teach Swedish, English, and all Social Science subjects. You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching based on the curriculum, and follow up, assess, document, and grade the students' knowledge development. The teaching needs to be clearly structured and adapted to the students' individual needs and conditions.
The role includes main responsibility for the teaching group. You coordinate the work around the students together with the school's student health service and other professionals, and work strategically with interventions related to school attendance and the student's well-being. The assignment involves close collaboration with guardians, the municipality's attendance team, social services, and other external actors to create sustainable solutions regarding the students' schooling.
You will be part of both work teams and subject teams with good opportunities for cooperation and collegial learning. Together, we work to create teaching and support measures that meet the students' different needs. Being a teacher and professional educator with us means that you have high expectations for the students' development and a strong belief that all students can succeed based on their conditions. You build relationships characterized by trust, respect, and clarity – with students, guardians, and colleagues.
About you
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach Swedish, English, and all Social Science subjects for grades 7–9. You have experience teaching at the lower secondary level and are well familiar with the comprehensive school's steering documents.
You have previous experience working in smaller teaching groups or similar assignments with students who have high school absenteeism, mental health issues, neurodevelopmental disorders (ND), or other factors affecting schooling. You have a good understanding of problematic school absenteeism and experience working in a relationship-building and attendance-promoting manner.
It is important that you have knowledge of ND and can adapt teaching, interaction, and structure based on the students' needs. Experience of collaboration with guardians, student health services, social services, attendance teams, or other external actors is meritorious.
We are looking for a safe, clear, and enduring leader with a good ability to create trusting relationships. You are structured, responsible, and have the ability to drive the work forward even in complex situations. You see the relationship as one of your most important pedagogical tools and work with clarity, warmth, and high expectations.
By combining didactic competence, a relational approach, and experience in adapted teaching, you create conditions for students to strengthen their school attendance, develop knowledge, and regain trust in their own abilities.
