Description

Approximately 570 students from preschool class up to grade 6 attend Flatåsskolan. The school is centrally located with proximity to outdoor recreation areas, as well as the rich cultural offerings of Frölunda Torg and Gothenburg City Centre.

We are now looking for a School Nurse (100%) to join our team. There is another school nurse working part-time at the school who knows the school well and will be your colleague.

Flatåsskolan, together with Björkåsskolan, forms the South West 2 school district. You will therefore have close cooperation with other school nurses within the district.

Responsibilities

As a School Nurse at Flatåsskolan, you are part of the school's student health team, working together with the school counselor, special education teacher, school psychologist, school doctor, deputy principal, and principal. The team's mission is to create the best possible conditions for the students' safety, health, and learning, in collaboration with school staff, students, and guardians. In this role, you will have close contact with the school's students and extensive collaboration with guardians, external healthcare providers, and authorities.

As a School Nurse within the Primary School Administration, you are part of the Student Health Medical Intervention (EMI). The work is primarily health-promoting and preventive, where you contribute your medical and nursing competence to strengthen the students' health, development, and learning. The City of Gothenburg works based on a set baseline program for EMI, which includes health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations. You are also responsible for planning and organizing both your own and the school doctor's reception work during the school year.

As a School Nurse, you are also part of a professional network together with other school nurses within the education sector, led by the Medical Management Responsible (MLA). You are offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introduction period. In addition, profession-specific competence development and the opportunity for regular external supervision are offered.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education in health and medical care for children and young people, district nurse education, or further education focused on school nursing activities.

Experience of working as a school nurse or with children and young people is meritorious. All documentation within the Student Health Medical Intervention (EMI) takes place in the digital journal system PMO, so experience with PMO is also seen as meritorious.

You are confident in your professional role, responsible, and have an easy time collaborating with others. The role of school nurse involves significant personal responsibility, which requires that you can plan, structure, and organize your work in an independent and efficient manner.
