Major investments are being made in an expanded primary care sector. As a Specialist Training (ST) doctor with us, you will get:

  • The opportunity to complete Basic Competence Training (BT) as part of your permanent employment as an ST doctor.
  • A patient load of 550 residents per full-time ST doctor position when you are mid-training, increasing to 1100 residents when you become a specialist.

Region Östergötland’s Specialist Training (ST) in general medicine is organized by the General Medicine Education Centre (AMC), where study directors and education secretaries coordinate side courses, arrange training, and participate in shaping the ST doctor's education plan. Welcome to Skärblacka Health Centre

From 2025, Skärblacka Health Centre and Finspång Health Centre will form a joint operational area. This change aims to create a robust operation equipped to handle the demographic challenges we face in the future.

The operations currently have nearly 27,000 registered patients together and a staff of over 130 employees. The new operational area includes Skärblacka Health Centre, Finspång Health Centre, Finspång Emergency Clinic, and a branch in Rejmyre.

At Skärblacka Health Centre, we are approximately 30 employees in various professional roles. We have close collaboration where we work together for the best care of our patients.

Job Description

As an ST doctor, you work with your own patient list. You meet patients of all ages at your own clinic. During your time at the health centre, you will, for a period, be responsible for special housing and work at the Child Health Centre. You will supervise students and perform development and R&D work.

You work mainly weekdays and during daytime. Further into your ST training, you will work on-call shifts during evenings, weekends, and nights.

Work Group

The medical group at Skärblacka Health Centre consists of five specialist doctors and one licensed doctor.

During certain periods, we also have AT (post-graduate training) doctors and medical students in our operations.

About You

You are a licensed doctor with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), and you have Swedish language skills equivalent to documented level C1, as you need to communicate unimpeded with patients, relatives, and colleagues. If you have not completed AT or have not passed Basic Competence (BT), there is an opportunity to complete BT during the first year of employment.
