Markverkstad Väst is a department within the Army Staff, with approximately 60 employees, operating in Halmstad and Gothenburg. We perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment and deliver technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment inspection.

Main Responsibilities

As we are in a major growth phase, we are now looking for a vehicle mechanic for Mv Väst who will work broadly with various types of vehicles used within the Swedish Armed Forces, e.g., passenger cars, light transport vehicles, tracked vehicles, trucks, construction machinery, as well as hydraulics and vehicle electronics. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications where necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on vehicle technology or equivalent, or alternatively competence acquired through professional experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Experience in vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• At least a Category B driver's license.

Merits

• Swedish Armed Forces' mechanic training on any vehicle system.
• Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and equipment maintenance in the Swedish Armed Forces.
• Experience working in a certified environment – ISO 9001/14001.
• Operator's license for construction machinery.
• Category C/CE driver's license.

Other

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probation period.

Employment level: Full-time, daytime.

Varying working hours may occur, and we also apply flexible working hours.

Work location: Markverkstad Väst/Halmstad.

Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

The work also involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international. The position is a civilian post.

Work with hardening plastics occurs at Markverkstad.
