About the Department

The Command and Control Systems Department (N6) at the Naval Base Headquarters is looking for a Signals Security Officer! The Command and Control Systems Department is a small team consisting of four employees. We support the Naval Base Commander in leading the unit by ensuring that all parts of the unit have the right prerequisites regarding IT, signals security, telephony, IT/tele infrastructure, and command and control support systems. We are now looking for you to complement the department with the right competence in signals security.

 

Main Responsibilities

As a Signals Security Officer, you report to the Command and Control Systems Officer. You are functionally responsible for the signals security service at the Naval Base. You lead, coordinate, and administer the signals security service at the unit. This includes:

 

  • Daily administration, such as processing incoming cases and inquiries
  • Responsibility for and driving activities and projects within signals security; equipment, training, inspections, and distribution
  • Responsibility for programming and loading existing updates and reinstallations in signals security systems, together with the unit's trained signals security personnel
  • Maintaining and revising, if necessary, the unit's local routines and instructions, as well as other essential documentation for the operations
  • Training personnel in signals security and signals security systems
  • Coordinating the unit's annual inventory regarding signals security
  • Participating in relevant training and meetings related to the position; travel is involved
  • Functionally leading and supporting the development of, and cooperation with, the Garrison Support Section's Signals Security Expedition
  • Participating in exercises in a working group for a staff and communications expedition
  • Driving the development of tasks within NATO COMSEC at the Naval Base
  • And other recurring tasks within the department.

In this position, you will collaborate with many employees both within and outside your own organizational unit.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • At least a three-year upper secondary education with eligibility for higher education
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Class B driver's license (manual transmission)
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office package

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trained FM Signals Security Officer by the Total Defence Signals Security School (TSS)
  • Civil Signals Security Officer according to TSS training plan
  • Trained crypto custodian
  • Trained as key and card administrator, and systems such as ISUS
  • Trained in FM basic security protection and signals security basics
  • Trained as system operator in FM existing signals security systems
  • Previous employment in the Swedish Armed Forces, or completed military service

The Naval Base's overarching task is to support the naval units with logistics such as transport, basing, guard duties, and healthcare, both domestically and abroad. The Naval Base is headquartered in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2,700 km long coast and territorial waters.
