Job Description

As a standby rescue service personnel (RiB), you are on standby for one week at a time, either every third or fourth week, depending on the workplace. During your standby period, you must be able to reach your fire station at any hour of the day or night. Your main tasks involve rescue service in an emergency response team: - Damage mitigation during rescue operations. Extinguishing fires, saving lives, and decontamination in the event of traffic and chemical accidents are some examples. - Training to prepare for operational duties. - Participating in preventive measures, such as providing information and training to private individuals and businesses. Qualifications The requirements for the position are a Category B driver's license, full health, and good physical work capacity in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations. This means you must undergo and pass a medical examination and physical tests. The physical tests consist of a treadmill test, a swimming test, and other job-related tests. Previous experience in municipal rescue services and a Category C driver's license are advantageous. If you do not have a Category C license, you commit to obtaining one. As a person, you are self-assured and have good self-awareness. You can empathize with others' situations. You are proactive and can work both independently and in a team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For an employment as RiB to become relevant: - We place great importance on your residence and/or workplace being located such that you can depart from the fire station within the prescribed time (5 minutes). - You must have consent from your main employer. Other The employment begins with training in general rescue services, so-called preparatory training, in which you must pass in order to be offered employment. The training is conducted during daytime over three weeks. The organization's goal is for you, as an employee, to be assigned to wartime duties within our organization.
