Do you want to help create a safe and secure working environment in large industrial projects? We are now looking for an experienced HSE resource for a developmental consultancy assignment in Karlshamn, starting in August 2026.
About the role
As an HSE resource, you will play a central role in our client's project operations and contribute to ensuring a high safety level in ongoing and upcoming construction, installation, and industrial projects. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and the site HSE team to translate requirements and routines into practical and proactive safety work.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence the safety culture in an international industrial operation while working operationally close to the project execution. This is a role for you who thrives on combining collaboration, advisory support, and clear requirement setting to create safe and successful projects.
This is a consultancy assignment where you will be employed by Academic Work and work on behalf of our client in Karlshamn. The assignment is full-time, performed on-site at the client's premises, and runs from 2026-08-24 to 2026-12-31, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
In the role of HSE resource, you will support the project organization throughout the entire project lifecycle and ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with current occupational health and safety requirements and safety standards. Among other things, you will:
- Support project managers and the project organization in occupational health and safety matters during both planning and execution.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute risk and safety perspectives.
- Ensure that risk assessments are produced, maintain high quality, and are implemented in practice.
- Provide operational support in the planning and execution of high-risk work.
- Monitor that contractors, suppliers, and the project organization work in accordance with safety requirements, routines, and internal standards.
- Conduct safety rounds, safety inspections, and workplace checks.
- Support the handling and follow-up of near misses, observations, and deviations.
- Contribute to proactive safety engagement and a strong safety culture in the projects.
- Work closely with the site HSE team to create structure and drive systematic occupational health and safety work.
We are looking for you who
- Have at least 5 years of experience in operational HSE work within industrial, construction, or civil engineering projects.
- Have advanced knowledge of Swedish occupational health and safety legislation.
- Have good experience with systematic occupational health and safety work (SAM).
- Have experience working closely with project organizations in both planning and execution phases.
- Have experience in contractor management as well as risk management and risk assessments in project environments.
- Have a good ability to translate legal requirements and internal guidelines into practical and business-oriented safety work.
- Have fluent skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have
- Experience from the process industry.
- Experience in contractor-intensive operations.
- Experience from large construction, installation, or investment projects.
- Relevant education or certification within occupational health, safety, and environment (Health & Safety).
