Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is a big task. Contributing to societal development is even bigger. With us, you get to do both. We are now looking for paving employees for the Industry division and our deployment operations, located in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your Role as a Paving Worker
As a paving worker with us, you will be involved in both large and small paving projects. Since the size and nature of the projects vary, the tasks are diverse and offer opportunities for professional development. You will belong to a work team where you together carry out paving works according to given orders and existing regulations.
We primarily perform paving works in Norrbotten and Västerbotten and surrounding areas. Working hours are generally Monday-Thursday, with some work performed during inconvenient hours.
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in the construction industry, specifically with earthworks and asphalt, who enjoys working on roads. A Category B driver's license and good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, are requirements for working with us. Having a BE and/or C driver's license, as well as experience with digital working methods, is highly meritorious. Having a valid YKB (Road Safety Certificate) and APV (Traffic Safety Certificate) is meritorious but not mandatory.
To succeed in the role of a paving worker, you need to be a team player who shows respect, supports, and cares for your colleagues. We see the work team as central to achieving success and delivering results, so your ability to collaborate is extremely important. You keep the customer's wishes in focus and work methodically to ensure our product maintains high and consistent quality. You simply love delivering world-class results!
Safety is highly prioritized at Svevia. We aim to have the industry's safest workplaces and most secure traffic environments. This means you must follow the statutory requirements, rules, and safety regulations associated with the role. Additionally, you will be punctual and keep your promises.
You enjoy collaborating to achieve the best results and possess strong social skills that contribute to a positive atmosphere at work.
At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting for skilled workers and have an agreement on annual working hours. This means you primarily work during our season, April to December, and are on leave during January to March, provided you have met your annual working hours during the season.
Part of Something Bigger
Svevia's industry division is in an expansion phase, and our ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.
Behind every road lies more than just the visible surface: an entire industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.
It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes ballast, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own rock quarries, own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastic, we offer a breadth that no one else does. In our laboratories, we perform material analyses to ensure products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, asphalt laying, tank paving, and road marking ensure the delivery is complete.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to have your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with smoking asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional knowledge, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first – both with care for your own working environment and the safety of others.
For those who wish to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your expertise in your specific area or move into a supervisory position.
Together, we make cities and the countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
Application and Information
You apply easily by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting in a quality-assured, inclusive, and unbiased manner. Therefore, we do not want a cover letter. In connection with your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions about your interest in Svevia and your experience related to the role.
