We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our project team, who wants to contribute to LKAB's circular initiative on critical minerals and be involved from the pilot project phase through to future full-scale operations.
The most important job of the future
We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who joins us on this journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?
LKAB Special Products
The Special Products business area delivers services and products. The business area consists of five divisions with operations in industrial minerals, mining and construction services, mechanical services, drilling technology, and explosives.
Your role
LKAB plans to begin extracting critical minerals from the existing iron ore mine in Gällivare by establishing a new apatite processing plant. The purpose is to utilize flows from iron ore production that are currently not being utilized. Your work as a Project Manager is a key part of LKAB's push for a circular industry and enables future production of rare earth elements, phosphorus for mineral fertilizer for agriculture, and gypsum as a by-product for the construction industry.
As a Project Manager, you lead and drive construction and infrastructure projects from planning to implementation, ensuring deliveries are made with the correct function, on time, and within the approved budget, always with safety, environment, and quality in focus. The role involves close collaboration with internal clients, as well as external suppliers and contractors.
In this role, you have two main areas of responsibility: driving ongoing improvement and conversion projects related to our apatite pilot plant in Gällivare, and working from the pre-study phase onwards in the development of a future full-scale apatite operation.
What you bring with you
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who thrives in collaboration, adapts easily when conditions change, and takes responsibility for finding solutions when challenges arise in projects. You also act as a role model in matters concerning safety, quality, and working environment.
We see that you have:
- Experience leading investment projects within industrial, process, or construction operations
- A high school education as the minimum educational level, preferably with a technical focus
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- A valid driver's license (Category B)
The following are meritorious:
- Project management training or higher education/university degree with a relevant technical focus
- Experience from the process industry, for example, beneficiation, chemistry, or mineral handling
