Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Region of Västra Götaland and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Primary Care Hospital, Högsbo Primary Care Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.
Are you interested in working in a psychiatric specialist team and thereby gaining the opportunity for further specialization and competence development within the diagnostic field?
The Region of Västra Götaland has decided to strengthen eating disorder care in the region. The decision includes an investment in day-care places for children under 18 years of age.
Do you want to be part of developing a business and have the opportunity to influence and shape your tasks together with the team?
Then this might be a job for you!
Description
The Psychiatry Business Area within Hospitals in the West is responsible for psychiatric specialist care for children, young people, and adults in the municipalities of Kungälv, Kärra-Rödbo, Stenungsund, Tjörn, and Ale. The operations include adult psychiatric and child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient clinics, two inpatient wards for adults, an emergency clinic, mobile teams, and specialized units for LARO, DBT, and Eating Disorders.
The Unit
The Eating Disorder Unit is a specialist unit located at Kungälv Hospital, approximately a 20-minute bus ride from Gothenburg. The unit consists of a well-functioning team of doctors, nurses, care assistants, occupational therapists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. The current service offering consists mainly of day care for adults, with individual interventions for adults, children, and young people.
The unit is now receiving strengthened resources to offer day care for children, which creates a need for additional staff.
During the autumn, we will work on the design of our new family day care, where the team, doctors, and unit manager, together with other stakeholders, will review the treatment offer, premises, and working methods. We hope that our new employees will be in place soon so that everyone can participate in this exciting development work and have the opportunity to influence future tasks.
Tasks
As a nurse at the Eating Disorder Unit, you will have very varied tasks. An important part of the treatment is the somatic follow-up of patients, where you, together with a doctor and a nursing colleague, have the main responsibility. Examples of tasks in addition to this include psychoeducation, support conversations, family therapy, collaboration, and meal support. The tasks are performed both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
The development opportunities for you as a nurse in our operations are great. We view competence development in the form of supervision and training within the area positively. We offer individualized introductions, where the setup is made in consultation with you.
Access to both team and professional supervision is available.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. Experience and interest in the target group are of great importance.
You will join a staff group with a good climate, high competence, and well-established basic structures to build upon. We work to a large extent in teams, so we place great emphasis on teamwork skills and personal suitability.
It is good to feel secure in your professional role, but at the same time be curious about other people's perspectives. The ability to switch between independent work and joint efforts with others is an asset in this work.
Other
We require extracts from the criminal record register for all offered positions within the Psychiatry operations.
Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis.
Welcome to apply!
