We are now hiring a Sous Chef for Vandalorum's Restaurant!

Requirements and Qualifications

You will be part of a tight-knit and cheerful team that delivers high-class dining experiences daily. The role involves working in both hot and cold kitchens and includes team leadership responsibilities. We are looking for a skilled and experienced chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You have a good knowledge of ingredients, are creative, proactive, cooperative, and flexible. You enjoy inspiring both your colleagues and guests, serving as the head chef's right hand. We are looking for someone with a burning passion for food; an interest in art and design is a plus. Personal suitability is highly valued.

• Culinary education and 4–5 years of professional experience
• Experience in team leadership
• Fluent in Swedish
• Good command of English
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

About the Position

• Permanent position, full-time (part-time work can be discussed). A 6-month probationary period applies.
• Working hours are primarily during the day, but weekend work is continuous, and evening shifts occur on certain occasions.
• Start date: September 1, 2026.
• Collective agreement signed between Fremia and the Hotel and Restaurant Workers' Union (HRF).

About Vandalorum Restaurant

Many of Vandalorum's guests visit not only for the art and design experience but also for the excellent food. In the restaurant, everything is cooked and baked from scratch. We use locally produced, organic ingredients and are KRAV certified. The restaurant is a member of Regional Food Culture Småland. Vandalorum's Restaurant has been awarded the prize from the Gastronomic Academy of Småland and Öland, as well as the Prize for Restaurant of the Year at the Restaurant Gala. Vandalorum welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually.

About Vandalorum

Vandalorum is a museum of international contemporary art and design, located in Värnamo, Småland, with over 100,000 visitors per year. Vandalorum is run by a foundation and built according to an original concept by Renzo Piano, inspired by local building traditions and materials. Approximately 10 exhibitions are held at Vandalorum each year. It also houses the exhibition activities and collection of the Småland Art Archive.
